Facebook announces 10,000 additional layoffs

Post by shukla7789 »

As reported by the American press, Meta's boss, Mark Zuckerberg, has confirmed a major new cut in the group's workforce.

Meta, the parent company of jordan mobile database and Instagram, is taking another massive cut. Its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has just announced 10,000 additional layoffs in a Facebook post, just months after a plan to cut 11,000 jobs.

"Over the next two months, business leaders will announce restructuring plans focused on flattening our organizations, canceling lower-priority projects, and reducing our hiring rates," Zuckerberg wrote.

"Overall, we plan to reduce the size of our teams by approximately 10,000 people and cancel the hiring of 5,000 new positions that have not yet been filled," he continued, citing in particular the recruitment and sales departments.

"It will be difficult, and we cannot escape it," he emphasizes. "We will support people in the same way we have done before and treat everyone with the gratitude they deserve."

This is the second wave of massive layoffs Meta has undertaken in just a few months. In November, the group announced 11,000 job cuts to address the general slowdown in the tech sector.

The list of affected positions will be revealed at the end of April and the restructuring will be carried out by the end of the year.

At the end of these two waves, Meta will have reduced its workforce by 24%, a brutal change of gear for a group that had never launched a social plan in nearly 20 years of existence.
