Continuous scrolling was rolled out for mobile searches in the USA in October 2021. Now the new feature is also available in Germany - at least in mobile search. In detail, this means: On mobile devices, the hits are no longer divided into individual search results pages.
Instead, users can simply scroll down smoothly, at least for the first 40 results. Only then does the "See more" button appear to load additional results. Google will continue to load the results in groups of ten, but this will happen automatically and without clicking . The first four pages will thus become one very long page. This eliminates the hard boundary between the hotly contested top 10, i.e. the best-ranked results, and the remaining results.
