While cloud storage and computing providers act as temporary caretakers of corporate data warehouses and often secure their own systems, the data owners remain their customers, who must take care of data protection and compliance monitoring themselves. Especially when workloads migrate from their own premises to the cloud and back.
The study also found that the majority of global companies (56%) now operate under a “cloud-first” approach when it comes to deploying new applications and managing workloads. This is a complete reversal of thinking compared to just a few years ago, when in-house software development played a leading role.
Only 1% of organizations said they will not use the cloud in poland whatsapp data next two years.
The Truth in Cloud, a Vanson Bourne study commissioned by Veritas surveyed 1,200 business and IT decision makers around the world. It found that multi-cloud is a key component of customers’ business strategies. They reported using a variety of cloud providers, including public and hosted private cloud providers.
Specifically, for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), 67% of organizations said they use or plan to use two or more cloud providers. 42% said they use or plan to use three or more cloud providers. The goals are typically to improve data resiliency and security, and reduce capital and operating costs.
As customers move to the cloud, the study examines three key issues: misconceptions about data management in public clouds, the rise of multi-cloud, and cloud trends.
Now everyone is heading for the clouds
