The global IT community may react badly if Atlassian, the developer of project management systems Trello and Jira, "harshly" leaves the Russian Federation, disabling all Russian accounts; this could undermine trust in the company, Vladimir Zykov, director of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers, shared this opinion with RIA Novosti.
Earlier on Tuesday, the israel whatsapp resource newspaper "Business man" with reference to a message from a mailing list for users, wrote that the Australian software developer Atlassian will begin to disconnect Russian and Belarusian accounts from its services. It is noted that the accounts will be disconnected from the company's services within 30 days after receiving the notification.
CRM systems Trello and Jira are popular in Russia, Zykov said - in particular, they are used by the marketing and IT community to set tasks for the product and track their implementation.
- that's the first thing, and the second thing is - if they do it really harshly, then, of course, the global IT community, in my opinion, will look askance at these programs, and in general, trust in these systems can be undermined. Because this means that if something happens, companies can block the project, which means trust in them is minimal, that is, it will fall, the authority of these systems," Zykov said.
He noted that despite the disunity of the IT community, many developers are in close contact with each other - and Russian specialists work in other countries of the world. "The world community is watching what is happening in Russia, taking note, understanding who could throw such a time bomb if something happens," the expert believes.
It is not yet entirely clear how the services will "calculate" and delete Russian users - by location, email or other means. "When we look at other services, other services generally work if you install them and use them with a VPN, for example. There may be a similar situation here. Some services have generally stopped accepting payments from Russia and believe that this is the end of their work with Russia, but those who have the ability to pay with foreign cards will continue to work," Zykov added.
As for Russian analogues, the expert notes that it is difficult to find similar services, especially completely free ones. However, he named analogues available to Russians: "If we are talking about services for system-selling projects, then we can name Asana, Pyrus, Wrike, YouGile. Bitrix24 has a cool service, a good system. There is also a system called ClickUp. There are also small ones like Work Section and Todoist. In general, these systems are not bad, have free features and can be used instead of Jira."
