Let's define the concept
First, let's find out what criticism is. The word itself comes from the Greek "to analyze", "to distinguish". Initially, this concept had a positive character and meant the analysis of some phenomenon with the purpose of improvement and correction. Over time, this word acquired a more negative connotation, and in Dahl's dictionary we see another definition of this concept: "to condemn, to censure or to discredit, to defame".

Criticism can be directed at a situation, an action, an activity, or a person. If criticism causes negative emotions and a desire to defend oneself, then it is destructive criticism.
