While links are now used in Google's algorithm, the principle hasn't changed: great links send valuable traffic to your page.

If we go back to the example above, relevant press coverage can send interested readers to your site. This helps introduce your brand to new audiences who could convert into customers.

Traffic Analytics, Traffic Path
You can use
Traffic Analytics
in our .Trends toolbox to find your site's referral traffic.
Pro Tip : You can also add this traffic to a remarketing list to target it on paid media channels to further increase the effectiveness of your referral traffic.

It is useful to check the backlinks of sites, whether it is to plan a link building campaign or to compare your site to those of your competitors.

You'll get information about your site's backlink profile using tools like Google Search Console, but you'll probably need more detailed data about other websites' backlink profiles - and you'll get that with Semrush.

Using Google Search Console to understand your link profile
Google Search Console will give you an overview of viber data your link profile, but will not provide you with any information about your competitors.

To get started, head over to Google Search Console and log in to your account. Using the left menu, head to the bottom of the menu, where you’ll find Links .

Google Search Console, Links section
You will then get an overview of your website's backlink profile under the "External Links" section.

You will have information on:

External Links : How many external links point to your site.
Top Landing Pages : The pages on your site that have the most backlinks pointing to them.
Top domains linking to your site : The websites that most often link to your site.
