The cloud infrastructure services market, according to analysts from the consulting agency iKS-Consulting, grew by 33.9% to RUB 121 billion in 2023. Its main part (83%) is accounted for by IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) - the rental of computing power on which clients can run IT solutions, and the other (17%) is PaaS (Platform as a Service) - providing users with a ready-made cloud platform for development.
According to iKS-Consulting, in cambodia whatsapp number database 2023, Rostelecom-DC became the leader in the IaaS market in terms of revenue share, taking 27.1% of this sector, followed by Cloud.ru (19%) and Selectel (8.5%).
for 2023, Sergey Anokhin, First Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of PJSC Rostelecom, reported that the revenue growth of the Data Center and Cloud Services cluster in 2023 compared to 2022 in the IaaS (infrastructure as a service) direction was 36%, while the revenue for the entire cluster as a whole amounted to RUB 63.5 billion, which is 44.5% more than in 2022.
According to Rostelecom, its revenue for 2023 grew by 13%, and the main contribution to revenue growth for 2023 was provided by, among other things, the “digital cluster of data centers and cloud services.”
Based on the results of the first nine months of 2023, the revenue of Selectel LLC (a provider of IT infrastructure services in Russia) for private cloud services based on dedicated servers (Bare metal), public and private clouds increased by 29.9% compared to the same period in 2022 - from 4.8 to 6.3 billion rubles.
Ilya Korolev, director of strategy at Cloud Technologies LLC (Cloud.ru), told a ComNews correspondent that Cloud.ru also does not expect a slowdown in the market growth rate: "The main factor is the acceleration of the transition to cloud services instead of the expansion of clients' own infrastructure."
"Selectel's revenue is growing at a rate comparable to the market against the backdrop of increasing demand for all of the company's core products," noted Konstantin Ansimov, Selectel's Director of Products.
"Selectel believes in the long-term prospects of the cloud market and, in order to meet the growing demand, in 2024 it will begin the active phase of construction of the Yurlovsky data center in Moscow, which will have the highest international reliability level Tier IV," reports the external press service of Selectel.
Rostelecom has already commissioned an additional 6.5 thousand rack spaces, including the new Medvedkovo data center with a total capacity of 5,000 rack spaces. The total capacity of Rostelecom-TsOD data centers has exceeded 21 thousand rack spaces.
Analysts at iKS-Consulting note that the market growth is due to the increased penetration of cloud services, increased trust from large businesses and the policy of optimizing costs for IT infrastructure pursued by many companies.
"Import substitution and the rejection of a number of foreign IT solutions in 2022 have launched structural changes in the Russian software development market, in-house developments within companies, which can be attributed to long-term drivers of growth in Russian cloud solutions," analysts at iKS-Consulting note.
Kirill Semion, General Director of the ANO "National Competence Center for Information Systems of Holding Management" (NCC ISU), says that expanding the IT infrastructure is more expensive and takes more time: "There is a need for significant computing power. In the cloud, this can be solved more easily and quickly."
"This market is growing because the advantages of cloud services are increasingly valued by customers. They allow you to get the necessary server capacity and services quickly. Which is natural - the customer is relieved of the need to design various segments of the IT and information security infrastructure, licensing and solving many other issues that are necessary even to launch a small node of the information system. Cloud platform solutions are worth mentioning separately - they speed up the entire process even more," said Vyacheslav Boyko, Director of the Vendor Business Solutions Department of the IT company Innostage.
According to him, import substitution is not the main driver of the cloud services market: there is a general global trend towards the transition from paper document management to electronic document management, which could become the IT norm.
"No one will associate cloud services with a high probability of data compromise or loss, reduced availability of infrastructure, or the emergence of other problems that now seem critical for business," says Vyacheslav Boyko.
