Head of the Industrial Internet of Things Department at UMNO digital Dmitry Serov directly linked ignorance and rejection of AI technology: "As we can see from the study, a third of the population is not sufficiently informed on this topic, which gives rise to misunderstanding and rejection of the technology. In reality, many simply do not feel the impact of AI on their lives, because they either do not know that they are already using services using the technology, or bahamas whatsapp resource have not seen the value of a product with AI. This is aggravated by the fact that instead of popularizing the real possibilities of AI assistance in people's lives, they mention more negative consequences that supposedly can happen. And many still remember such science fiction stories as Terminator with Skynet, etc. If we talk about mistrust, then the situation of legal regulation is highlighted. As one of my friends said: "The machine will make the decision, and you will be responsible." This is the reason for mistrust, if a person cannot control the system, then he is not ready to rely on it."
linked pessimism towards AI in Russia to two factors: "Firstly, there are concerns about job losses due to automation that AI could bring. Secondly, there is a fear of the unknown and the potential threat to personal safety and privacy."
Dmitry Grudnev, consultant of the Transformation Strategy practice at Reksoft Consulting, believes that it is more correct to talk not about Russians' mistrust of AI, but about their lack of awareness: "The survey data may speak not so much of pessimism as of Russians' lack of awareness: almost half (47%) were not informed enough to answer the question or found it difficult to answer. In my opinion, one of the main reasons for mistrust is the lack of a large number of products with AI functionality on the market that are aimed at solving common problems and are convenient for end users. Most people do not yet see a significant impact of AI on their professional and everyday life. A skeptical attitude towards the technology may slow down the pace of implementation of AI solutions and hinder the development of the AI market in Russia, especially in the B2C segment."
Oleg Bosenko, Director of the IBS Cybersecurity Directorate, believes that it is not entirely correct to talk about pessimism, not only in Russia, but also in the world: "The introduction of AI technologies, or more correctly, machine learning technologies, into everyday practice is growing at an increasing pace. At the level of IT specialists, this is already a recognized fact. Not just another trend, but a targeted vector of development. At the user level, it should be taken into account: an ordinary user, as a rule, does not care whether he receives an electronic service with or without AI. He is interested in the effective service itself. As for the younger generation, the development and application of language models in this age segment is so widespread that sometimes you want to stop this flow. For young people, AI is a mixture of hype and active development of technology. Passion for the necessary programming languages is also great. Therefore, I would not talk about pessimism in Russia. We should also take into account the tasks set by the president for the use and implementation of AI. It is unlikely that these tasks were formed on the basis of pessimistic assessments. I would suggest reducing the share of pessimism to 20-25%, while considering this rather as a fear of insufficiently timely resolution of issues of countering threats and negative consequences of the use of AI."
