22 drug addicts and drug dealers sentenced to various terms of imprisonment and fines in Chapainawabganj

Faisal Azam Apu, from Chapainawabganj: In continuation of the anti-drug campaign, RAB-5, CPC-1 of Rajshahi, an operation team from Chapainawabganj Camp and Ms. Khadija Begum, Executive Magistrate, Chapainawabganj Sadar, Chapainawabganj conducted mobile courts at various drug spots under Sadar Police Station of Chapainawabganj district on Sunday from approximately 12 noon to 8:30 pm and arrested a total of 22 drug addicts and traders for the crime of consuming drugs in public.

Sohel Rana (55), father-deceased Afzal Hossain, Sang-Kansat, Thana-Shibganj, 22. Shakib (42), father-deceased Faku Biswas, Sang-Chakaalampur, Thana-Chapainawabganj Sadar, Sarva District-Chapainawabganj were arrested red-handed.
Among the arrested accused, accused No. 1 was sentenced to 03 months, 05 accused No. 2 to No. 6 were sentenced to 02 months, 06 accused No. 7 to No. 12 were sentenced to 01 month, 15 days' imprisonment for accused No. 13 and No. 14, 07 accused No. 15 to No. 21 were sentenced to 07 days' imprisonment and sent to jail, and accused No. 22 was fined 4000/- Taka. The fined money was immediately collected and deposited in the government treasury. 1. Marijuana-750 grams, 2. Brewed liquor-27000 liters, 3. Ampoule injection-09, 4. Marijuana kalki-07, 5. Matchsticks-06 were recovered from the accused arrested on the spot, which were destroyed on the spot in the presence of the magistrate.
