How to factory reset an Asus laptop without disc
Many users ask this question: how to factory reset my ASUS laptop if I don’t have installation disc or don’t want to create ASUS recovery disc? The good news is that restoring an Asus laptop to factory settings without a CD is possible and not difficult for ordinary users.

How to reset an Asus laptop from settings
First you need to open the settings on the ASUS laptop that you want to reset. There are two commonly used methods:

Click the Start button to bring up the Start menu -> select Settings from the sidebar.
Press Windows + I.

Then start resetting your laptop in settings.

Scroll down to Update & to find security; Click it.
In the left pane, go to the Recovery option.
Go to the Reset this PC section in the right pane.
Click the Let’s go button underneath. The description message tells you that you can keep or remove your personal files and then reinstall Windows.
Then follow this guide to complete the ASUS recovery.

Wait for your ASUS laptop to restart.
The Choose an option window appears.
If you upgraded your system from pre-installed Windows 8.1 with an ASUS recovery partition, you will see Factory data reset option. After clicking this option, the system will be downgraded to Windows 8.1.
Then you should select files from Only the drive where Windows is installed and Remove all drives.
Decide whether you want to clean the drives as well; Select Remove just phone number list my files or Remove files and clean up the drive.
In the Ready to restore window, click Restore and wait for the process to complete.
Warning:

In many other cases, only the Keep my files and Remove everything options were displayed in the Choose an option window. You should select one to continue.

Keep my files:

Go to Reset this PC -> click Let’s go.
Click Keep my files.
Choose Reinstall locally If you cannot reinstall Windows this way, you should try the cloud download.
Click Change settings.
To restore the applications and settings that came with this PC, toggle the switch to Yes under Restore preinstalled applications.
Click Confirm.
Browse the current settings and click Next.
Click Show apps that will be removed.
The list of apps to be removed is displayed. It tells you that you need to reinstall some apps from the web or the installation CDs. View them and click Back.
Click Reset and wait for the process to complete.
