When it comes to online banking, the smartphone is now becoming the second most important banking device. 58 percent of online banking users (2019: 52 percent) do banking on their mobile phone at least occasionally. Among 16- to 29-year-olds, the proportion is as high as 72 percent. This means that the smartphone is currently behind the laptop (82 percent), but already ahead of the desktop PC (53 percent) and tablet computer (50 percent).
