An alternative approach to “protocol-level privacy” introduced by Aztec Network focuses on “rollups” to protect user funds and support private transactions. Aztec’s flagship product is zk.money , which uses 2-layer deep iterative zero-knowledge proofs for both scaling and privacy.
The first ZKP proves the correctness of the protected transaction, ensuring that the transaction was in fact private and that no information was leaked. grouping the transaction batch calculations together and ensuring that all transactions were executed correctly.
While Rollup-based “protocol-level privacy” solutions are still in their infancy, they belarus rcs data represent the next evolution of “protocol-level privacy” solutions. The main advantage of Rollup solutions over dApp-based “protocol-level privacy” solutions like Tornado Cash is their greater scalability, as the heavy computing work is largely done off-chain.
Furthermore, since most Rollup research has focused solely on scaling up computation, there is still ample room for research into the application and extension of these technologies in the privacy arena.
