Moscow was one of the first megacities in the world to introduce artificial intelligence-based services into practical healthcare. Since the beginning of last year, the number of artificial intelligence-based services has almost doubled. 90 percent of them are domestic developments. This was reported by Ilya Tyrov, Deputy Head of the Moscow City Health Department.

"We immediately set a course not for import substitution, but for import advancement: in the field of artificial intelligence for medicine, we are not creating analogues of foreign technologies, but unique domestic IT solutions. Conditions were created for healthy competition between developers and continuous improvement of algorithms based on feedback from Moscow doctors and experts. Transparent methodology for testing and approbation of neural networks, the infrastructure of organizational and financial support made it possible to form a market for solutions based on artificial intelligence in radiation diagnostics in Russia. Currently, more than 40 artificial intelligence services are involved in our experiment, since the beginning of last year their number has almost doubled, 90 percent of them are domestic developments. Algorithms help doctors in searching for diseases in 17 areas. In total, they have already analyzed more than eight million radiation studies," said Ilya Tyrov.

and highlight areas that the doctor should pay special attention to. This speeds up the process of describing studies and improves the accuracy and quality of diagnostics.

Similar solutions have italy cell phone number list previously worked as part of an experiment to introduce computer vision into Moscow medicine and have already proven their effectiveness. The initiative allows using domestic solutions in practical healthcare and not depending on grant support.

Since 2023, Moscow has included artificial intelligence analysis of images in the compulsory medical insurance (CMI) tariff. The first to be added to the CMI tariff was the analysis of mammographic images. Such examinations are still free for city residents. The use of modern smart algorithms will speed up diagnostics and improve their accuracy. This is a big step not only for Moscow, but for the entire country. The project is in line with the goals of the national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence in the Russian Federation and allows Russian artificial intelligence technologies to be competitive in the global market.

The Diagnostics and Telemedicine Center is a leading scientific, practical and telemedicine organization within the structure of the Moscow Social Development Complex and the Moscow Department of Health. For 26 years, the Center has been responsible for improving the activities of the radiation and instrumental diagnostics departments in the capital. It specializes in the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in medicine, the development of radiation diagnostics, and the organization of the work of departments in medical institutions, including the telemedicine approach.

Moscow has been actively working on the digitalization of its healthcare system for over 10 years. The experiment on the introduction of computer vision technologies into medicine was launched by the Moscow Social Development Complex based on the Moscow Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine and the City Department of Information Technology. The center has become a platform for the development of artificial intelligence technologies in Russia. Artificial intelligence services have been integrated into a single radiological information service of a single medical information and analytical system. About 150 medical organizations in the capital, including children's ones, have received the opportunity to use innovative technologies.
