One of them is that most of us agree and I definitely think that links are a ranking factor. There is a lot of interaction between the brand and the links. If you think about the things you can do to build links, many of them will also increase interest in your brand. You think about things like digital PR. Likewise, many of the things you can do as a brand marketing result in you getting links.

The more well established you are in the industry, the chinese overseas australia database more people are talking about you, these are the things that you'll do as brand marketing, well, they'll result in people linking to you because you're an authority or because you're mentioned in their campaign or whatever. SERP signals are another potential factor here I think. Now that's a controversial one. Many people don't believe that Google takes SERP behavior into account, or maybe it does it indirectly or something like that.

I think SERP signals probably play some role in Google's algorithm. I have written about this elsewhere. I won't get into it anymore. But having a strong brand will definitely affect things like click-through rate from SERP. Even if you don't think it affects rankings, you probably care about SERP click-through rates. So if people get to the SERP, they see three sites, and they've heard of one of them, which one are they clicking on?
