Google Webmaster Tools: Learn about Google's Webmaster Tools

Post by Abdur11 »

Every website or blog is like an old car.
The review is not done for some time, some of the HTML pieces are not from the original template, there are parts that have not been changed since the car left the factory, among many other things. The result is a machine for which one has an emotional bond, however, its performance is always of low potential.

Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) is like a toolbox. Daily, consistent use can't fix your pages, but it can direct you on what needs to be done. Body tweaks (tags), carburetor tweaks (rotobts.txt), and even advice on which posts (search queries on Google) your site performs best on so you can be guided in content production and choose keywords in Google Adwords. Learn how to use some of the main tools in Google Webmaster Tools to boost your site.

Google Webmaster Tools Entry
Just like Gmail or Drive, Google Webmaster Tools is a free service, phone number lookup philippines but unlike them it has a small barrier to entry: authentication. You need to prove to Google that you own the site. We recommend the easiest and fastest method: HTML Tag. After adding your site in GWT, click on the “HTML tag” tab. Copy the code.

If like most people you use WordPress, you can go to the menu, click on “Appearance” and then on “Editor” and paste the code where <head> is written. And that’s it!

Tools you should pay attention to
Webmaster Tools has been around since 2005 (when it was still called Google Sitemaps) and offers many different tools. It is also updated quite frequently and some tools change names. We will highlight some of the main ones.

1.- Data Highlighter
This tool is a way to manually help Google understand what your site looks like: where the title, date, author name, images , etc. are located on each page. With this tool, even without making a single change to your site's HTML, Google can quickly identify data like event dates, reviews, addresses, and more so that anyone searching can find them quickly. It's not necessary to do the procedure on all pages, just do it on a few pages of the same layout and Google learns to repeat the process.

2.- HTML improvements
Simple and useful tools: Reports HTML errors on your site so you can quickly correct them. Examples: title tags that are too long or too short, missing or uninformative title tags, pages with the same titles, etc.
